A cyber drill test, often referred to as a cyber security drill or exercise, is a simulated practice scenario designed to evaluate an organization's readiness and response capabilities to cyber threats or attacks. These drills mimic real-world cyber incidents to test the effectiveness of an organization's security measures, policies, and incident response procedures.
During a cyber drill test, various scenarios may be simulated, such as a ransomware attack, data breach, phishing attempt, or network intrusion. The participants, usually employees and key stakeholders within the organization, are required to respond to the simulated incident as they would in a real situation. This involves following established protocols, communicating effectively, containing the threat, mitigating the impact, and restoring normal operations.
